Visual Storytelling: Hot Dogs
The Hot Dog Legs tumblr page went viral last
Monday after BuzzFeed named it the “Best Tumblr of The Summer.” The Ketchum
team quickly mobilized on the news and created a “hot dog legs” postof our own to engage fans just a few hours later. As a
result, we’ve been able to convert a single Facebook post into multiple
pieces of media coverage, driving awareness for the brand during
the key pre-Labor Day sales period. Media highlights include: MSNBC (with an
accompanying tweet from Chris
Hayes), Yahoo!,
a tumblr
post from the originator, as well as a tweet from
the BuzzFeed author who kicked the "hot dog legs" frenzy into
high-gear. To add to all of this, KRON 4 News in San
Francisco and WSLS-NBC in Roanoke, VA both ran stories on the
"hot dog legs" phenomenon;
